FoodPAC Steering Committee Announces FY 2006 Research Program

The Steering Committee recently made final project selections for the FY 2006 Research Program. A total of 15 projects were approved for funding, including 6 in the Process and Product Improvement technical area, 5 in Food Safety and Health, and 4 in Environmental. Approved funds totaled $1,285,000 (this amount includes $985,000 in general funds and $300,000 in bond funds). The 15 approved projects (grouped under their respective technical areas) and their respective total funding amounts (general and bond) are as follows:

New Chair and Vice Chair Elected

The Steering Committee elected a new Chair and Vice Chair at its Spring Meeting held on May 13 at the Atlanta Farmers’ Market.Steve Woodruff of WHEE, Inc. replaces Lee Bonecutter of Cargill Meat Solutions as Chair. Reggie McLee of Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. assumes the office of Vice Chair.

FoodPAC's Fiscal Year 2004-2005 Report to Industry is now available. The report gives an overview of the Traditional Industries Program for Food Processing, provides the FoodPAC committee leadership listing, and highlights the research results of 15 projects conducted during FY 2004 as well as activity plans for FY 2005.
